Kitchen Quick Tips - Keep Critters Away

kitchen quick tips Place a bayleaf in flour, rice and pasta when storing to keep critters out!

    Do you open new bags and add it?
    How do you store opened bags?
    I try to put everything in a ziploc, or a glass or plastic container.

    Thanks for the tip. How often do you replace the leaves? Oh. Fresh or dried?

  2. You can use for open bags or unopen bags stored in non-airtight containers. I typically pour rice, flours and pasta into 2 gal jars or 5 gal plastic food pails then place a dry bayleaf on top. One per container is enough and change when refilling. I also store unopened bags of rice and pasta in plastic food pails with a bayleaf tossed in as good measure to deter any critters.
